WIP Panel Crops – Nightmare’s Embrace | July 27, 2026

WIP Panel Crops – Nightmare’s Embrace | July 27, 2026

Small WIP panel crop from Nightmare's Embrace I've been drawing recently - as well as, I soft-launched the info page for the comic last week, on July 22, 2026! I plan to retouch some of the artwork on it, as two of the profile artworks use older art (while the third is one of the paintover practices touched-up from last year), before sharing the page more widely. (That's also when I'll update the RSS.) In the meantime, the page in its current form is up at Landylachs.com/nightmare

Adam Glenn from MOTU – Loose Painting | July 14, 2026

Or as I like to call it, "Adam Glenn with his big shiny sword."

Loose painting practice of Adam Glenn / "He-Man" from Masters of the Universe. I ended up seeing this movie for a second time toward the end of June, haha. It was not planned, but I am so very, very happy it happened. :D

Sketch: Skeletor and He-Man from “Masters of the Universe” | June 20, 2026

Sketch: Skeletor and He-Man from “Masters of the Universe” | June 20, 2026

Saw the He-Man / "Masters of the Universe" movie on Friday, and it was such a fun romp! I'm not very familiar with the source material - I haven't watched the show - but I went in expecting a campy good time. It delivered on this, and more, as I constantly felt the budget for this movie felt much higher than what I would expect for a movie of this scope. Which was an absolute treat for an audience-member, but it made me concerned for how this movie might perform at the box office - as while I enjoyed the movie quite a bit, it felt very niche.

Trahearne & Malyck in Cleansed Orr – GW2 | June 13, 2026

Trahearne & Malyck in Cleansed Orr – GW2 | June 13, 2026

"The scholar witnessed the fulfillment of his dream."

I was reminded of this drawing last week, during the lead-up to Guild Wars 3's announcement last Friday. During those days before - when GW3 was still a whisper of a guess - I saw fan speculation about how the teaser the studio showed early las week might be a "cleansed Orr." Which reminded me of this older art I was inspired to paint shortly after finishing the Knight of the Thorn questline when it was first added to the game.

It involves one of my fan stories where Trahearne brings Malyck to a cleansed Orr, after Trahaerne cleanses Malyck from Mordremoth's corruption (this fan story takes place after Heart of Thorns).
Lorcan Loose Ref – Nightmare’s Embrace | June 11, 2026

Lorcan Loose Ref – Nightmare’s Embrace | June 11, 2026

I'm at the point while drawing "Nightmare's Embrace" (which I'm realizing as I'm typing this I should create a webpage I can link to, so I don't have to explain what it is each time) where I can't rely on my haphazard mix of different ref screens and drawings of my characters - at least, not if I want them to maintain a minimum semblance of design consistency.

I didn't have a solid design for Lorcan's outfit until now, because every time I've drawn him I've done so slightly differently. Which is acceptable for paintings, not as much for comic pages. This is a loose drawing tonight to figure out which design I want to use for him in the mini-comic.

Bonus Booklet Cover Art + WIP’s – The Harbinger’s Path | June 11, 2026

Cover art for The Harbinger's Path "bonus booklet"!

I drew the initial idea for this painting a while ago, way back in 2024! I'll add a few earlier WIP crops in the full post below. Most are from 2024, except for the final one from this past April, which I scrounged up for this post:

The Harbinger’s Path: Print Update #4 – Books! | June 1, 2026

The Harbinger’s Path: Print Update #4 – Books! | June 1, 2026

The Harbinger's Path Trahearne & Malyck fan comic debuted in print at Manga Ichiba during Fanime last week! Thank you so much for your interest and patience waiting for these books, and thank you again if you could visit! It was incredible meeting Trahearne fans in-person. I'll never forget the experience!

I'll do a proper write-up about the convention another time, but because I did say I would have information about these books after the convention, I wanted to put this post up first.

More in the full post!

The Harbinger’s Path: Bonus Booklet Preview! | May 19, 2026

Earlier this month, after finalizing the main print book for The Harbinger's Path, I was contemplating whether it was possible to put together a "bonus booklet" with some extra material I ran out of space for in the main print volume.

The Harbinger’s Path: Print Update #3 – Book Final + Proof Photos! | May 6, 2026

I spent much of the tail end of April finalizing The Harbinger's Path print version, and wanted to share some photos of one of the book's proofs from during this time! I ended up spending much more time than I'd planned refining the print version, and despite telling myself not to do this excessively - I ended up manually adjusting or making art refinements to every single page, haha. On the plus side, I'm pleased with how it's turned out! I think the extra time was worth it, and I hope this comes across to anyone who holds the final book in their hands!

All photos in this post are graciously taken by my printer (many, many thanks to them again for being so wonderful to work with!).

The rest of the photos & post are below, along with one or two higher-resolution photos:
Laranthir of the Wild – Paintover Warm-up | April 23, 2026

Laranthir of the Wild – Paintover Warm-up | April 23, 2026

My time has been occupied by trying to squeeze in as many final edits to the book as I'm able to - which has involved some painting, and made me feel like like doing a small paintover of one of my older Laranthir artworks today. I'm not sure if I've ever posted the original before, because I wasn't happy with how it turned out. Above is the paintover from this morning, and the original version is in the full post below:
Manga Ichiba Circle Cut + Table Info | April 9, 2026

Manga Ichiba Circle Cut + Table Info | April 9, 2026

Finished my circle cut for Manga Ichiba! These are used as a way for the convention organizers to show who the participating doujin tables are. It's carried over from Comiket ("comic markets") in Japan. In JP, doujinshi are much more commonly created and shared - compared to here in NA, where we don't have an established doujin culture (...yet!).
